Apple Sauce

Apple Sauce
  • 400g Braeburn apples
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 strip of lemon rind
  • 3 tsp butter
Apple sauce is an apple puree that is a quick and easy accompaniment to usually a main course, or dessert.
Makes about 1 cup sauce

  1. Peel, core and slice the apples, then stew them gently in water with the lemon rind and sugar.
  2. When the apples are tender, puree in a blender or with a stick blender.
  3. Add the butter, then reheat and serve.
